A penthouse at the former Alphington Paper Mill site featuring a spectacular private rooftop with a golf putting green, spa, workout area and kitchen is simply without par. TAKE A PEEK.
A “spectacular” penthouse featuring a private rooftop golf putting green and six-seater spa is turning heads in Melbourne’s northeast.
Located within the Yarrabend Artisan Residences building on the former Alphington Paper Mill site, the double-storey stunner at 307/37 Mills Blvd, Alphington, with a $2.65m-$2.85m asking range is attracting the interest of AFL players.
Its 201sq m rooftop also boasts an outdoor kitchen complete with a barbecue, drinks fridge, pergola, heating, lounge and dining spaces, auto-irrigated landscaping and workout area.

Owners Gary and Megan Rose said their three-bedroom apartment designed by DKO Architecture was created with entertaining in mind.
“We would’ve had 50 people up there on New Year’s Eve to watch the fireworks,” Mrs Rose said.
“The outdoor kitchen is fully plumbed with hot and cold water to the sink, natural gas to the barbecue and wok burner for the veggies, and power to the drinks fridge – my personal favourite feature, which is always well stocked with my favourite rosé.”
Developers Glenvill craned the spa onto the roof, while the Roses installed the putting green themselves.
“It’s taken a little while for the birds to get used to us being on the rooftop,” Mrs Rose added.
“And the view of the hot air balloons floating by from the Yarra Valley is breathtaking.
The indoor marble and stone-fitted kitchen features two fridges, Miele appliances, dual dishwashers and a Billi tap and insinkerator.
A wine storage area is capable of holding about 80 bottles and a north-facing undercover terrace is located off the open-plan dining and living areas.
Here, a three-sided glass fireplace imported from the US and installed at an overall cost of about $40,000 provides a talking point for guests.
Other drawcards include two basement car spaces and double storage cage, a powder room, laundry, study alcove and main bedroom including a walk-in wardrobe, matte glass vanity ensuite and large balcony.
Oak floors, plantation shutters and fluted glass accents feature throughout.
“This very New York-style glass reminds me of many heady experiences in NYC like climbing up to be inside the crown of the Statue of Liberty,” Mrs Rose said.
“We also have lift access to the rooftop as well as the internal stairs which has been brilliant for getting heavy and bulky items up to the 4th floor terrace.”
She said the building’s other residents were “very friendly” and they have all enjoyed nights out together including a barefoot bowls session.
Ms Rose, a stocktrader who also runs a Yarra Valley short-stay accommodation named Badger House, and Mr Rose, a GP, are building a new home with a second office to give them more room while working from home.
Kay & Burton director Scott Patterson said a couple of AFL players have expressed interest in the penthouse.
“It would absolutely suit someone who loves entertaining, perhaps a professional sportsperson who wants to recuperate in the spa and entertain their friends,” Mr Patterson said.
“You go up the stairs, open the doors to the terrace and your eyes widen, you can’t help but go ‘wow’.”
The third bedroom with custom cabinetry could be used as an office, he said.
The penthouse will be auctioned on April 5.
